The Nigeria Senate yesterday passed the 2016 Appropriation bill submitted by president Muhammadu Buhari late last year into law.
Back and front, issues arouse from budget paddling, to strange figures from Minister sand Parastatals which also led to the retrenchment of some federal civil servants.
Here are 5 grey areas of the budget Nigerians need to take note...
1. National Assembly has increased the budget for Constituency Projects from N60bn as proposed to N100bn.
2. The National Assembly retained the FG Special Intervention Programme for the Poor & Unemployed at N500bn.
3. The "ENTITLEMENTS OF FORMER PRESIDENTS/HEADS OF STATE AND VICE-PRESIDENTS/CHIEFS OF GENERAL STAFF" was retained at N2.3bn
4. National Assembly reduced "PAYMENT FOR OUTSOURCED SERVICES" from N5bn to N2bn.
5. "OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE", the acronym established to fight insurgency in the North by the Nigerian Army was reduced from N10bn to N8bn
