The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that it is ready for Wednesday’s governorship election in Edo State.
The election, which was earlier scheduled for September 10 but was postponed to September 28 due to security reasons.
INEC Director, Voter Education and Publicity, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi said on Sunday that the commission is ready for the election.
“We are prepared for the September 28. The card readers have been reconfigured and charged. We’ve retrained the staff, and we are ready to go,” Osaze disclosed.
He, however, declined to comment on security as he said, the Inspector General of Police is in the best position to speak on the issue.
