Chief Abdullahi Ohioma, who is a Kogi State-born chartered accountant and a tax expert, is a delegate at the ongoing National Conference under the Group of Elderstatesmen. In this interview with Sunday Trust, he bares mind on his expectations at the confab, the need to retain presidential system of government, the plights of Igala people as a minority ethnic nationality in Nigeria and the need to avoid making power rotation a constitutional issue…

You are a delegate at the ongoing National Conference. What has been your experience so far?
The National Conference, as we have it now, is an interesting gathering. I must commend Mr President for putting these arrays of individuals together; delegates from diverse background; well experienced in their areas of endeavours which cut across the strata and the groups that represent Nigeria, coming together to bring to bear their experiences on issues that are affecting the development of Nigeria, unity of Nigeria and to, as much as possible, chart something nearly new for this country so that Nigeria can move forward. Nigeria as it is today and the democracy which we have been operating, leave much to be desired. So, we feel strongly that as much as we are for the unity of this country, as much as we are for the indivisibility of this country, we must come out with recommendations that will take care of structural imbalance, recommendations that will move Nigeria forward recommendations that will give aspirations to the youth that tomorrow truly belongs to them.
