14 persons died in a series of clashes between criminal gangs lasting five hours in northeastern Mexico, official confirmed on Monday.
The authorities in the state of Tamaulipas said that the clashes occurred in the towns of Madero and Tampico, an area where the Gulf Cartel and the criminal gang Los Zetas, were active.
It added that the clashes started in Madero when unidentified attackers killed two men and one woman, but that 11 others were killed in six different sites in Madero and Tampico.
