THE Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) branch, has described the 2014 Federal Government budget as anti-masses and characterised by wasteful spending.

Chairman of the chapter, Abdulsobur Olayiwola Salam, in Abeokuta, the state capital on Monday, expressed shock that despite the fact that 70 per cent of Nigerians live below poverty line, the governme, again failed to take steps towards reversing the trend in the budget.

You know what's even bizarre? It's the masses' reaction to this. The larger percentage is apathetic to it, an aloof response resulting from the "Even if them 'economize' the budget, d moni no go still reach awa hand' mentality that has permeated the fabric of the (mostly) proletariat class.

Hey, I'm not even judging. I think like that too. But seriously - money is being scarily spent in this country.

Alot of Nigerians are not concerned...they only become concerned if the government will feed them. This corruption we cry about everyday wasn't born in Aso rock, it was born on the streets
