The rivalry between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took a new twist yesterday as the former asked President Goodluck Jonathan not to bother coming to Niger Delta for campaigns ahead of the 2015 general elections.

The Rivers State chapter of APC said that both Jonathan and his party, PDP, lacked the moral right to campaign in the Niger Delta, claiming that the region had suffered neglect for long.

In a statement issued yesterday in Port Harcourt by its Interim Chairman, Dr. Davies Ikanya, APC, recalled that President Jonathan received the highest number of votes from Niger Delta during the 2011 presidential polls, but lamented that there was nothing to show for the support.
