Umar, son of late Are Musulumi of Yourubaland, Arisekola-Alao, has declared intention to vie for Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat of Oyo State in House of Representatives in 2015.
He made the declaration at a political rally organised by his supporters in Ibadan on Wednesday.
Umar, a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC is the current Commissioner for Youth and Sports in the state.
"I decided to seek the party’s ticket to the House of Representatives following my supporters’ persuasion to do so. I would not have come out to declare this interest if my people did not support me.
"They are the pillars behind this declaration and ambition. I must thank Governor Abiola Ajimobi for giving me an opportunity to show what I can do as a young administrator. If the youths are presented with opportunity by our leaders often, I am certain that they will contribute immensely to the development of this nation.
"Nigerian youths are dedicated, loyal to the nation and have great hopes that this country will come out of the present challenges facing it to become one of the greatest countries in the world.”
