The Saudi Arabian government has threatened to arrest and prosecute any pilgrim who fails to abide by the new rules in place for the stoning of the devil ritual at Jamarat during the 2016 Hajj pilgrimage.
In a meeting with Nigerian and other African countries’ officials in Minna on Monday, the Saudi Arabia Hajj Ministry representative, Sheikh Mohammed, said "any Pilgrim seen alone in Jamarat will be arrested and will face the highest punishment.”
He pointed out that the government is adopting the kind of schedule used for airlines at the airport.
“No flight arrives or departs the Airport until it’s rime is due, we intend to apply the same procedure for Jamarat.”
Mohammed also said apart from the arrest and prosecution of pilgrim who disobeys the rule, state officials responsible for the pilgrim would also face sanction.
