The INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has said that the continuous voters’ registration (CVR) will start next month at its 774 offices nationwide up to 2019.
Prof. Yakubu said this yesterday in Abuja during a dialogue organised by the Civil Society and Situation Room ahead of the next general elections in 2019.
He said 7.8 million permanent voters cards (PVC) were still uncollected.
The breakdown shows that Lagos State has the highest of one million uncollected PVCs, followed by Edo State 700, 000 PVCs, while Ogun State has the least of uncollected.
The INEC boss said the commission would not spare anyone that violated the electoral process, noting that the violation of the electoral process now happened at the final collation centres.
