The Borno state government has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Maiduguri following the recent attack by suspected members of the Boko Haram Islamist sect.
Secretary to the State Government,Alhaji Ahmed Jidda who announced the curfew on behalf of the government said that the curfew was imposed in consultation with the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri.
The government appealed to the populace to remain calm and obey the curfew as it would be lifted as soon as the security situation in the state improved.
