An intersex individual from Central Kenya has given a disheartening account of his tribulations after growing up with a serious case of gender confusion. Ryan Muiruri Wangui who is also known as Ruth Mwihaki Wangui revealed in an interview with NAIJ.com that he was primarily raised as a girl, only to develop male features during puberty.
His woes date back to 28-years-ago when his father completely disowned him due to his condition, as he did not want to be associated with what he termed as a ‘bad omen’. Regardless, Ryan’s mother took him in and raised him as female despite the fact that he was intersex
