A 3-year-old Florida girl walked more than a mile down a busy road to seek her grandmother’s help after her mother was killed, authorities say.
The Lake County Sheriff’s department said the father of the girl, 36-year-old Johnny Lashawn Shipman, is suspected of killing her mother, 26-year-old Kristi Lynne Delaney, of Mascotte, according to Reuters. A warrant is out for Shipman’s arrest.
Lake County Sgt. Kristin Thompson said Tuesday that the girl was “kind of heroic” for walking down the road.
