Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of a Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday sentenced a 32-year-old farmer, Gambo Isa, to five years imprisonment for drug trafficking after he had pleaded guilty to a one-count charge of dealing on Cannabis Sativa, otherwise known as Indian hemp.

The sentence is to take effect immediately.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) had nabbed Isa, an Oshodi resident, on Feb. 13 at Agege, Lagos with about 500g of Indian hemp which he was to sell to hoodlums.
