Contrary to widespread rumours that the Emir of Kano, HRH Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is not yet in the palace because he is being haunted down by security operatives, Premium Times has uncovered 4 reasons why the New Emir is operating from the Kano state government house and not the royal palace.

Four reasons why HRH Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is not in the palace include;

• Previous Emirs including Ado Bayero took some time before they went into the palace due to the grand entry requirements.
• Traditionally, a new Emir does not enter the palace through the front door. He chooses a section within the palace wall which he wants to use to enter the palace. That portion of the wall is then opened for him to enter. HRH Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is yet to do that.
• The new Emir is expected to hold court at the Nassarawa Mausoleum today; that tradition usually precedes his entrance to the palace. The new Emir can stay at hawan Nasarawa for as long as he chooses.
• The Late Emir's family need time to relocate from the palace. They are currently still receiving condolences at the palace.
