DailyPost gathered that 13 persons were killed on Saturday along Firgi Area while 27 persons were killed on Thursday in Gulumba attack, which also left 12 others injured.
Alhaji Baba Shehu, the caretaker committee chairman of Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, confirmed on Monday the killing of 13 persons at Firgi area as well as 27 persons by suspected Boko Haram militants during an attack in Gulumba village last Thursday.
“Gunmen numbering about 70 riding on about 15 motorcycles and hilux vans attacked the village last Thursday.
“They shot down 27 persons, injured 12 and set ablaze buildings. About 300 houses were burnt; forty shops and ten grinding machines were also destroyed. Also, about 1000 domestic animals were also killed in addition to about N4 million cash belonging to the villagers”, he disclosed.
The council boss further stated that the local government had assisted in the burial of the victims, adding that “the 12 injured persons are receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, with the council paying their medical bill,.
