The Ogun State Police Command and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad Lagos Command on Saturday arrested five suspected ritualists in Joju area of Ota in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State with human heads and flesh.
The suspects, identified as Kuburat Salami, Tantolorun Abimbola, Kafayat. Popoola, Wahid Ibrahim and Adamu Rafiu, were arrested around 9.10a.m with pieces of human flesh in their possession following a tip off.
The exhibits recovered from them include one complete human head and pieces of human flesh in a container stained with liquid substance suspected to be human blood.
A statement issued by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, said the arrest was made possible following a tip-off from members of the community. The PPRO said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ikemefuna Okoye, had ordered that the case be handed over to SARS, Lagos, for discrete investigation since it was a follow up to an on-going investigation with the command and that the state Command would complement Lagos command in the course of its investigation on the incident.
