Andrew Pocock, Britain's high commissioner to Nigeria disclosed that 60% of his country's developmental aid goes to Northern Nigeria.
Nigerian Watch reported that speaking in Kano, Pocock said,that the UK was deeply concerned about the economic devastation taking place across northern Nigeria. He spoke during the graduation and presentation of empowerment grants/facilities to 1,907 youths and women trained on horticultural skills and home-based trades by the Kano State government".
"Indeed, 60% of the British development assistance that we put into this country comes into the Northern Nigeria. This is because the United Kingdom was deeply concerned about development of the region".
