So far since the beginning of 2016, celebrities have engaged in one or two fight over popularity, fame and award. The beginning of 2016 saw a big blow on two great stars in the music industry; Don Jazzy and Olamide rift at the Headies award among others.
Since New Year day Nigerian celebrities have been going at each other with no chill or reservation on social media. Before Nigerian celebrities all sang 'kumbaya', and held hands under the mango tree. Now it's Game of Thrones, every man for himself.
1. Olamide - Don Jazzy:
The Headies awards saw a big shot between Olamide and Mavin recod boss, Don jazzy. The issue between the two spilled over the social media for days and became the household talk of that moment.
On the first day of the year, popular Nigerian rapperOlamide and Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy took shots at each other at the Headies which later spilled online.
2. Davido, Babymama and Dele Momodu
This is a case of alleged child trafficking between Davido and his baby mama, Sopphia Momodu which later involved the Nigerian, ghana Based journalist, Chief Dele Momodu. The dispute almost reck the life and career of David Adeleke, Davido for the allegation of child trafficking leveled against by his baby mama, Sophia. The dispute still lingers in the family of both Adeleke and Momodu.
3. Dammy Krane - Wizkid:
Krane and Wizkid is also another controversial dispute that erupted the social media scene in 2016. Krane accused Wizkid of theft and the whole social space was shocked by that accusation.
4. Blackface - 2face Idibia brouhaha
Blackface, a team mate of the former Plantashun Boiz accused music legend, Tuface of using his songs together with Wizkid without his proper permission. Tuface replied him by saying he is disappointed in him.
5. Blogger Linda Ikeji and Wizkid
They two celebrities have been pounding on each other on the social media platforms. While Linda uses her blog to lash out at the singer, Wizkid uses his much tense twitter and Instagram pages to react and abuse the social blogger Linda Ikeji. The two personalities have been the talk on social media recently and the much tense controversies was recently settled by the Lagos state commissioner of Police when Linda filled a report at the Police headquarters.
6. Oritsefemi Stabs Bouncer at Quilox: The night turned bloody at the popular Quilox Club, Lagos when Singer Oritsefemi stabbed a bouncer in the eye for politely approached him for sitting at the wrong table without prior reservations. Not minding his social status, Oritsefemi was beaten up for the public misconduct. Both the Bouncer and Oritsefemi landed in hospital. The singer later apologised for such act.
7. Terry Slaps DJ, Jimmy Jatt Boils: Words cannot describe the madness that enveloped Music star Terry G exhibited on stage as tealented Nigerian comedian staged his first comedy show 'D' Good D' Bash and D'Funny, at the Shell Hall, Muson Center, Onikan Lagos on Sunday, June 5. All seemed well until Terry G was called to perform on stage, he came with his usual craft and his bell, Things went bad when it was time for him to leave the stage but he shut the DJ up and told him to play another song, which he did. But when he was taking too much time on stage, the DJ – who is one of Jimmy Jatt's boys changed the song and Terry G was enraged. Terry G walked up to the DJ and slapped him. He threw the mic on the staged and walked out. Jimmy Jatt boiled, called out Terry G and lashed out at him for the misconduct.
