The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association Of Nigeria (IPMAN) has said about 80 percent of all the issues related to corruption in Nigeria are traceable to the oil sector.

IPMAN National President, Mr. Chinedu Okoronkwo made it known to PUNCH that the nation's oil regulatory body, NNPC was largely involved in most of the corruption-related issues in Nigeria. He said at the surface, some corruption cases may not be seen as involving the oil sector, but an in-depth analysis of most of such cases will reveal direct or indirect links to the oil and gas industry.

Okoronkwo said if the Federal Government could stop corruption in the Oil and Gas sector, then the nation's corruption problem would have been reduced by about 80 percent.
