Metro 9 Prison Inmates Gained Freedom in Sokoto

In the spirit of Eid-el-Fitr, the Sokoto State Government has given unconditional pardon to 9 inmates of the States Central prison. The inmates got there freedom in a special programme organized by the State Government, and presided over by the Commissioner for Justice, Alhaji Buhu Adamu, who represented the state Governor.

The commissioner said that seven of the inmates were convicted of one offence or the other, while the remaining two were on awaiting trial list. In a bid to rehabilitate the freed inmates, the State Government gave them N30,000 each, to enable them start something to do for a living.
