A housewife, Mrs Victoria Oni, on Friday asked an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court to dissolve her 33-year-old marriage with Mr James Oni due to alleged constant battery.
Victoria, 49, is also seeking the dissolution of her marriage over alleged threat to life and lack of proper care for her and her children.
She told the court that her husband was fond of beating her, adding that he also accuses her of adultery.
Victoria, a mother of five, claimed that her husband always frustrated her at home by making unnecessary complaints about her, and had once embarrassed her publicly while she was on her way to church.
She alleged that her husband would often threaten to kill her and kill himself each time they had a quarrel.
She also alleged that her husband would not care for the welfare of their children, saying she was responsible for the payment of their children's school fees.
Victoria, therefore, prayed the court to dissolve the marriage as she was no longer comfortable with it.
