Children of late Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero paid homage to the new emir Malam Muhammad Sanusi II at the weekend, a week after his appointment as emir, Daily Trust heard yesterday.
Late Ado Bayero died Friday June 7, after spending over 50 years on the throne. The general belief was that the odds favoured his eldest son, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero, the Ciroma of Kano.
However, the kingmakers chose former Central Bank Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi after two days of deliberations as well as consultations with the state governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.
