An alliance of 15 registered political parties called The Mega Coalition, has endorsed Senator Andy Uba (Anambra South) as its candidate for the Nov. 18 governorship election in Anambra State.
The Chancellor of the coalition, Chief Perry Opara, announced this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.
According to NAN report, Opara said that Uba emerged from a consensus, and that the decision was arrived at after several meetings by the National Chairmen of participating parties in the coalition.
He said they had scrutinized numerous candidates for the elective position, and Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came top as the best aspirant for the job.
Opara said that although the APC was not a very popular party in the South-East, it paraded the best and most experienced aspirants in the race.
He urged the APC leadership and the delegates in Anambra to choose Uba as their candidate for the election.
Opara said Ubah stands tall among other qualified aspirants like Chief George Mughalu, Dr Chike Obidigbo, Dr Obinna Uzor, Mr Tony Nwoye, Mr Barth Nwibe and Dr Obigboh of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
