Former Borno State governor and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff, has denied a media report that he is sponsoring a former minister of foreign affairs, Chief Tom Ikimi, for the chairmanship of the party during the forthcoming party convention in Abuja.
A national newspaper (not LEADERSHIP) had claimed that Modu Sheriff was sponsoring Ikimi for the APC chair, but speaking exclusively with LEADERSHIP on the matter yesterday, Modu Sheriff stated that there was no iota of truth in the story, describing the story was baseless and unfounded.
