One person allegedly died during the rescheduled ward congress election of the All Progressives Congress, APC, held in Edo South Senatorial District yesterday.
Sunday Mirror reliably gathered from sources at the Edo State Police Command that the death occurred at Isiuwa Primary School in Ward 8 of Ovia North East Local Government Area, where an unnamed politician reportedly brought five soldiers in a van marked “Operation Thunderstorm” to ensure his security at the congress venue.
The soldiers allegedly shot at the victim whose name was given as Mr. Matthew Adams and who reportedly died on the spot, during the violent confrontations that marked the election there.
