The Labour Party in Ekiti State has denied allegations that it is perpetrating violence in the build-up to the June 21 governorship election in the state, saying rather, Governor Kayode Fayemi and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) should be held responsible.

Bamidele, who was reacting to accusations by the APC that his Labour Party thugs allegedly attacked chieftains of the APC in some communities in the state, accused Governor Fayemi and his party of masterminding violence in the campaigns.

Bamidele, who denied the allegations while speaking in Okemesi Ekiti on Wednesday, during his campaign rally in Ekiti West Local Government Area, said the resolve of some members of the APC to persecute him for daring to contest against Fayemi had caused the tension in the polity.
