The Borno State branch of All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday postponed its Local Government Congress to next week to give room for proper arrangement.

Mr Farouq Adamu, the Chairman of the APC National Committee on the Borno congress, made this known to newsmen in Maiduguri.

``We have shifted the election from this Saturday till next week to allow for proper planning and arrangement.

``Last week ward congress was inconclusive in most places due to factional differences between Gov. Kashim Shettima and his predecessor, Sen. Ali Sheriff.

``But last Thursday's truce between the two parties paved way for the actual conduct of the ward congress in most areas in the 27 local government councils of the state’’, he said.

Adamu, however, said a new date for the local government congress in the state would be communicated to the public in due course.
