The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday revealed that the impeachment saga of the former state Governor, Murtala Nyako, started when he refused to grant lawmakers’ request of N1 billion for constituency projects.
Speaking at a press briefing convened at the party’s secretariat in Yola, the state capital, the Chairperson of the APC in the state, Binta Masi Garba, said Nyako told the lawmakers that his administration could only afford N500million, saying N350 million has been released to them before the impeachment.
“Members of the state House of Assembly wanted Nyako to give them N1 billion for constituency projects which the governor said he did not have but agreed to give them N500 million out of which N350 million was released to the lawmakers before his impeachment,” said Garba.
