Yesterday evening, reports went out that General Muhammadu Buhari had conceded the slot-picking of his running mate to Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the APC party.
This would, understandably, diminish Chibuike Amaechi, Rivers state governor's chances, who - until now - was strongly tipped for the position.
Discussions will continue this weekend, but we do not expect the party to hurry this along. The party has until December 18 to submit their nominee to INEC.
