Nigeria's arrested former Finance Minister, Sen. Esther Nenadi Usman, has refunded a substantial part of the N2.5bn she received from the Office of the National Security Adviser in 2015, Vanguard reports.

She served as the Director of Finance for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential Campaign Organisation, reportedly received N2.5 billion from the N4 billion that was released from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

She was arrested during the weekend and has been cooperating, reports say.

An EFCC official added that she'll be released as soon as she refunds all the money traced to her.
