There are new reports about prominent Nigerians who've died in the recent hajj stampede near Mecca on Sallah day.
According to PUNCH, a brother of the former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, Justice Abdulkadir Jega also lost his life in the stampede on Thursday.
Another Justice of the Ilorin Division of the Court of Appeal, Justice Musa Hassan Alkali; the Emir of Zing and Ameerul-hajj of Taraba State to 2015’s hajj exercise, Abbas Ibrahim and two of his wives have also been identified as being among the dead.
The stampede claimed 769 lives and about 900 people were injured.
Reports say about 100 Nigerians died in the stampede.
