The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, Dr Nkosazana Zuma, has condemned “the heinous terrorist attack'' against forces of the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) in Kidal.
A statement made available to PANA on Tuesday, two soldiers were killed and several others from the Senegalese contingent were injured.
Zuma sent her condolences to the families of the victims, the UN and the Senegalese Government, while wishing the injured speedy recovery.
In addition, the chairperson reaffirmed the support of the AU to MINUSMA in pursuit of its mandate in Mali.
“AU is determined to vigorously pursue, in close cooperation with countries of the region, the fight against terrorism in all its forms,’’ she said.
