The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, in a statement on Monday has strongly condemned Saturday’s “cowardly attack’’ on a minibus in a suburb of Nairobi, that killed many innocent civilians and injured many more.
She said she learnt of the attack with shock and grief and expressed the AU’s “most sincere condolences to the bereaved families” and wished the wounded speedy recovery.
She reiterated the AU’s unwavering support to the government of Kenya in its efforts to combat terrorism and stressed the continental body’s commitment to continue to work with member states in preventing and combating terrorism.
