Former Super Eagles skipper, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha has passed a vote of confidence on the head coach of the Nigerian national team, Sunday Oliseh as the best man for the three time Afcon champions.
The former Paris Saint Germain and Bolton Wonderers midfileder insisted that Oliseh is on track with his rebuilding process despite the country’s shock exit from ongoing CHAN championship in Rwanda on Tuesday afternoon.
The Sunday Oliseh-led team were beaten 1-0 by Guinea in the final round of Group C game which a draw would have helped them through has come under heavy fire since that exit with many questioning his capacity to lead Nigeria to glory.
However, ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha has argued the CHAN should not be used to judge Oliseh as he remains the right man to steer the Super Eagles where they rightly belong at the top of the football tree.
“Oliseh is the right man to take us to where we want to be, he’s the right man for the job,” insisted Okocha.
“We cannot use the CHAN to judge him.
“Rather we should encourage and support him.” Africanfootball
