The Boko Haram insurgents have demanded a ransom of 800 cows for the release of the 20 Fulani women, whom they have been held in captivity for about one week now.
The demand which translates into 40 cows per victim, was revealed by the husbands of some of the abducted women and security sources.
The news of the kidnapped had been denied by people in Chibok, Borno State, where the incident happened, including vigilante youths. The state police command has also admitted that it was not aware of the kidnapping incident.
