Politics Bayelsa Election: Sylva heads to Tribunal

The candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, and Former Bayelsa State governor in the just concluded governorship poll in the state, Chief Timipre Sylva, yesterday said he would challenge the outcome of the election in the state at the tribunal, describing the exercise as conspiracy against democracy.

Sylva, at a news conference in Yenagoa, slammed the state Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, describing it as a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, rigging machine.

Meanwhile, 14 of the 20 political parties that fielded candidates in the just concluded election, have advised Sylva to accept the outcome of the poll.

The political parties, while also endorsing the result of the poll, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the poll and called on Sylva to join forces with Governor Seriake Dickson, winner of the election, to move the state forward and stressed that the state needs ideas and partnership and not antagonism.
