The tension brewing currently in Bayelsa State is getting more palpable as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has raised the alarm over the illegal deployment of 1,000 mobile policemen to Ekeremor LGA by the Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, as part of a grand plot to rig election in the area.
One of the mobile police men (name withheld), said he along with a number of his colleagues were not told the nature of the assignment they were called to undertake.
According to him, they were also not told where they were being deployed to until they got to Bomadi Waterside enroute to Ekeremor.
Eye witnesses at Bomadi Waterside who said the younger brother to the minister, Jonathan Lokpobiri was sighted with armed policemen in hired speed boats.
Meanwhile Director of Publicity of Restoration Campaign Organisation, Jonathan Obuebite, has called on the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, to take urgent steps to arrest the situation.
