The #Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has described the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, as a bridge builder who used his connections to promote peace and harmony in the country.
This is contained in a statement issued on Friday in Kaduna by Malam Muhammad Ibrahim, ACF National Publicity Secretary.
``We learnt with heavy hearts the passing on of HRH Alhaji Ado Bayero, the Emir of #Kano today,’’ the statement said.
It also said that the late Emir, who ruled Kano emirate for more than 50 years, devoted his life to the progress of Kano people in the areas of education, agriculture and general socio-economic development.
The statement said Bayero stood for peace not only in Kano but also across the country.
``Late Ado Bayero brought candour, elegance, royalty and respect to the Emirship of Kano, and equally promoted its rich culture to the admiration of Nigerians and the world,’’ it added.
It said that the Emir would be remembered for his wisdom, elegance and love for peaceful coexistence of all Nigerians irrespective of tribe and religion.
``Nigeria has lost a royal father. ACF hereby commiserates with the good people of Kano and Nigerians over the passing away of Ado.’’
The statement prayed ``Allah (SWT) to grant him eternal peace in Aljannah Firdausi.
``Allah grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.’’
