Kwara- Over 2,000 youths under the aegis of Mohammed Dele Belgore (MDB) Solidarity Group in Kwara State have dissociated themselves from the recent defection of Mr Belgore from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reports The Nigerian Tribune.

According to Mr. Obalowu Olaitan, the spokesperson of the group, Mr Obalowu Olaitan, the people had vowed to remain in APC to attract better progress and development for the state.

“It is our belief that the emergence of APC by progressive parties, groups and individuals was the best interest of our country and effort by the leadership to have a decent and credible democracy”.

“Our group observed that the defection of Mr Muhammed Dele Belgore (SAN), to PDP is embarrassing not just to the group but to all lovers of firm defence of Nigerian Constitution and democracy.

“The group considered the defection of Mr Muhammed Dele Belgore (SAN) from APC to PDP as ill-timed when Kwara was in high political competition for development.

“The decision of Belgore to defect from APC to PDP is informed by self centered ambition under alleged inducement at the detriment of Kwarans and general interest of Nigerians.

“In the interest of well meaning Kwarans and Nigerians, we officially dissociate our group from Dele Belgore political movement and subsequently, announce our merger and harmonisation with other progressives and vibrant youths of the state and addressed as “APC Team Kwara”.

The group is reportedly the youth wing of Mohammed Dele Belgore (MDB) political movement that had been working for Mr Belgore from his days in the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with membership across the 16 local government areas of the state.
