Professor Ibrahim Maqari, the imam of the National Mosque in Abuja, has been called for dismissal by Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka because of comments he made about Deborah Samuel Yakubu, a student at the Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto who was allegedly lynched for insulting the Prophet Muhammad.
