Nigeria's Blessing Okagbare continued her fine form of late, winning the women's 100m event at the ongoing 2014 African Athletics Championship in Marrakech,Morocco.
Okagbare emerged winner of the contest,racing to a gold medal in a time of 11.00seconds on Monday evening.
Murielle Ahoure could not do much to stop Okagbare,with the Ivorian sprinter settling for the silver medal behind the Nigerian.
Two other Nigerians who competed in the 100m finals: Gloria Asumnu and Lawretta Ozoh finished in fourth and sixth positions respectively.
It has been a good one month for Okagbare,who followed up her success at the 2014 Commonwealth Games with another stellar showing in Morocco.
She won three medals: two gold and one silver in Glasgow,breaking the Games record with a time of 10.85seconds in the 100m event.
Meanwhile in the men's category,Nigeria's Mark Jelks finished in second position behind Ivory Coast's Koffi Hua Wilfred who won the race in a time of 10.05seconds.
