Over the weekend, gunmen suspected to be members of the boko haram terrorist group blew up the Madafuma bridge linking 185km Biu- Damboa- Maiduguri federal road, Vanguard reported.
The gunmen allegedly planted Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs under the the bridge. The explosion damaged a portion of the bridge leaving motorists and passengers stranded. According to an eyewitness, the bombing took place at about 2am. No death has been reported from the incident.
