A top Boko Haram commander and 20 other suspected terrorists were on Sunday arrested in Kano during a sting operation set up by the DSS.
According to the DSS Director in Kano, Alhassan Muhammad, said the 48-hour operation neutralised what would have been a bloody Eid Fitr in Kano.
He said the operation was carried out in conjunction with the police. According to him the arrested Boko Haram Unit Commander was also in charge of Kano, Kaduna and Sokoto states.
He revealed that “arms and ammunition, primed Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs, were recovered from the suspects’ hideouts in the state.”
