The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has said Boko Haram is a result of ideology and not poverty as widely perceived, saying that bullets will not completely solve the menace.
The president of CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, stated this in Abuja, on Tuesday, at a one-day Christian and Muslim interactive session on peace, unity and justice.
Oritsejafor stated that the problem of Boko Haram was that it was an ideology, saying “Yes the military is very vital, they must play their role, but you will not solve it completely by bullets.”
