Simon Collins, British ambassador to Saudi Arabia who converted to Islam has completed the hajj with his Syrian wife.
GUARDIAN UK reports that the ambassador converted to Islam in 2011 “after spending 30 years in Muslim societies” and shortly before his marriage to Huda al-Mujarkech. A photo of him at Hajj was posted online by Fawziah Albakr, of King Saud University.
The British embassy in Riyadh and the Foreign Ministry have declined to comment on Collin's participation in Hajj.
