Nigeria's next INEC boss will be appointed by Muhammadu Buhari, president-elect when he assumes office.
According to PUNCH, President Goodluck is not planning to appoint a replacement for the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega.
A source from the presidency who spoke anonymously said, that since the tenure of the present government would end on May 29, there was no need for the President to “hurriedly appoint another INEC chairman.”
It is however, unclear which region Buhari will tilt towards in appointing a new INEC boss.
