Entertainment Calabar Carnival: State Governor Promises a Bigger Event

The Cross River State Government has commenced the 15th edition of the Calabar Festival. The festival kicks off with the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at the Millennium Park in the state capital.

The state Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke, who was represented by his Deputy, Mr. Efiok Cobham, speaking at the ceremony declared that “This year’s event, which is very dear to us because it is the last in the life of this administration, will be better and more colourful. We will do our best in ensuring that we give you the most memorable event.

“It’s been 15 years of lofty presentation, of spectacles and innovation by young and vibrant youths and a veritable ground to showcasing the innate talents of our young ones some of who have become force to reckon within Nigeria.”

Also, the state’s Special Adviser, Tourism Development, Mr. Wilfred Usani stated that in recent years the state government has supported the vision to organize the festival as one of the modern culture that gives young people the opportunity to showcase their talent and abilities.
