The Independent Petroleum Marketers Associaton of Nigeria (IPMAN) has set up modalities to curb the diversion of PMS loaded at the terminals of Capital Oil and Gas Limited to black markets.
Owing to Capital Oil's banning of 'dubious' oil marketers from lifting oil at its terminal last week, IPMAN has set up a seven-man committee to curb the illegal activity.
The Chairman of Capital Oil, Mr Ifeanyi Uba who explained his company's decision to ban the marketers to journalists in Abuja said, the company was concerned that mist independent marketers sells petrol at prices above the regulated N87/litre.
The company is working with IPMAN to curb the practice and part of the measures taken is the "no change of number strategy" which ensures that only the number of trucks that were approved were by NNPC were loaded at its terminal.
