Sports Capital One Cup: Chelsea and Manchester City through to round 16

Both Chelsea and Manchester City have progressed to the next round of the Capital One Cup competition.

Chelsea had to shake off a challenge from Bolton whom they defeated 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to be able to make the round 16.

It was Jose Mourinho's team who had firm control of the game,and although the scoreline doesn't totally suggests a game that was entirely one-side,it was Chelsea who dominated.

Kurt Zouma on his Chelsea debut fired high into the net to give his side the lead against Bolton who didn't clear properly froma corner kick.

The visitors drew level six minutes later through Matt Mills who headed home to equalise at 1-1 .

Chelsea had to regroup in the second half with Oscar hitting in a low drive that secured the win for the Blues.

Meanwhile,Manchester City ran riot over Sheffield Wednesday winning their game 7-0.

Surprisingly all the goals were scored in the second half of the match played at the Etihad Stadium.

Frank Lampard took off where he stopped on Sunday,the former Chelsea player started the scoring and equally finished it off accounting for two goals.

Edin Dzeko equally bagged a brace on the night,with Jesus Navas,Yaya Toure and Jose Angel Rozo all on the score-sheet.
