An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates' Court in Lagos on Wednesday ordered the remand of a 19-year-old carpenter, Lekan Oluwole, over the alleged killing of one Wasiu Omolabi, by shooting him with a locally-made gun.

The Magistrate, Mr F.J. Adefioye ordered that Oluwole should be kept in the Ikoyi Prisons, pending an advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions.

The accused is facing a three-count charge, bordering on conspiracy, attempted killing and unlawful killing

The court refused to take the pleas of the accused.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Cpl.Onaiwu Iyobosa, told the court that the crime was committed on April 7 at about 7.20 p.m. at Igbobi in Jibowu, Lagos.

He said that the accused also fought one Solomon, an eyewitness, who tried to settle the fight.

If convicted, Oluwole would be sentenced to death.
